B1G hands out weekly honors for basketball Player, Freshman of the Week
Wisconsin’s Johnny Davis and Nebraska’s Bryce McGowens have taken home the weekly honors in the B1G this week.
Davis was named the conference’s Player of the Week and McGowens was awarded Freshman of the Week honors after tremendous performances last week.
Davis helped lead Wisconsin to a pair of victories last week, averaging 27.5 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks and an assist per game in wins over Indiana and Michigan. In the road win over Indiana on Tuesday, the star guard had a double-double with 30 points and 12 rebounds.
He scored the final 13 points for the Badgers at Assembly Hall.

Nebraska played just one game last week, falling 90-74 to Maryland. McGowens was the lone star in the contest for the Huskers, providing the team with a much-needed spark.
The freshman scored 25 points, grabbed 3 rebounds and added an assist in Friday night’s contest.
