Michigan fans hope Santa will bring them a national title for the first time since 1997. The Wolverines are two wins away from the ultimate glory. B1G champion Michigan will face Georgia in semifinals of the College Football Playoff. If Michigan advances, they face the winner of Alabama/Cincinnati in the national title game.

Michigan is 12-1 overall and easily handled Iowa 42-3 in the B1G title game. The all-time series is tied 1-1 between Michigan and Georgia. This is the first meeting between the programs since 1965.
