The college basketball season continues to heat up with some great non-conference matchups continuing to unfold.

Following the second week of the season, the B1G has announced Co-Players of the Week and a Freshman of the Week with Purdue raking in a couple of the honors. That is not hard to figure out.

In the early going of the season, the Boilermakers have made their case as a top-5 team and true contender for the Final Four. Wins over North Carolina and Villanova highlighted the past week of action.

Trevion Williams was honored as the first Co-Player of the Week after averaging 16.3 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals win 3 wins for Purdue. He also netted 20 points in just 13 minutes played vs. UNC.

The other Co-Player of the Week was Iowa’s Keegan Murray. Murray averaged 26.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 3 assists. and 2.5 blocks in 2 wins for the Hawkeyes. Murray has netted at least 24 points in all 5 games to start the season, including Monday night’s game vs. Western Michigan.

Purdue’s Caleb Furst was also tabbed as the Freshman of the Week. Most notably, Furst went 5-for-5 from the field in a big win over Villanova.
