A few more players will be able to travel with their team during road games this season, thanks to a rule change from the B1G.
On Monday, the conference announced that teams will be able to have 74 players on the travel roster for road games in 2018, an increase of four players. Previously, the allotted limited was 70.
With the new redshirt rule — players will be allowed to play in four games and retain their redshirt status — the increased travel roster size only makes sense.
Plus, it will make B1G coaches, like Scott Frost, very happy.
New this year, and just announced, @B1Gfootball has upped players allowed to travel to 74; it used to be 70.

The change isn’t overly drastic, but it does allow a few more players to get the opportunity to travel with the team.
We’ll see what kind of impact this has for teams in the B1G.
