The B1G Men’s Basketball Tournament netted the Big Ten Network some massive viewership numbers last week, setting plenty of records.

On Tuesday, BTN announced that this year’s coverage of the B1G Tournament was the most-watched in network history. Big Ten Network covered all 10 games through the first three days (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) of the event.

Not only was the 2022 B1G Tournament the most-watched in network history, Friday’s quarterfinal matchup between Wisconsin and Michigan State was the most-watched men’s basketball game in the network’s history.

Per the release, the quarterfinal contest between the Badgers and Spartans delivered 1.19 million viewers, the most for a men’s basketball game in BTN history. Viewership for the entire tournament was up 25% from last year’s, which was the most-watched prior to this season.

Big Ten Network also provided a breakdown of the 5 most-watched B1G Tournament games from this year:

  1. Michigan State vs. Wisconsin: 1,192,000 viewers
  2. Illinois vs. Indiana: 831,000 viewers
  3. Penn State vs. Purdue: 810,000 viewers
  4. Maryland vs. Michigan State: 752,000 viewers
  5. Iowa vs. Rutgers: 729,000 viewers
