We all debate it.

Whether we’re from Big Ten country or from way down south, we’re all college football fans. And year after year, we have to debate as to which conference is better.

But, what does an actually college football analyst think? What does Joel Klatt believe?

Hate him or love him, here’s Klatt’s conference power rankings:

Klatt went with the SEC at No. 1. We, of course, will argue that.

Not here and not now, though. For the sake of this post, we’ll leave it to what it is. Klatt sees the Pac 12 and Big 12 as the third and fourth-best conferences, while the ACC and AAC are essentially tied for fifth.

Will this matter come College Football Playoff time? That’s the real question.

And realistically, it probably will. The top four teams aren’t ever crystal clear. Is the second-best team from the SEC better than the second-best from the B1G? That may be the question the committee has to ask itself to choose which team makes the playoff and which doesn’t.

The first CFB Playoff rankings will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
