B1G, Pac-12 announce intention to bring back canceled bowl game in 2022

In a joint statement, the B1G and Pac-12 are aiming to bring the canceled San Francisco Bowl back for the 2022 season.

“While the game will not take place this season, we are working together with local Bowl Organizers towards confirming the 2022 edition of the event and continuing this annual Bowl tradition,” the statement read.

The San Francisco Bowl, formerly known as the Redbox Bowl, is an annual B1G-Pac-12 matchup that has been played in the Bay Area since 2002.

The San Francisco Bowl official announced the decision on Sept. 10.
