The Big Ten Conference has officially issued a statement on Ohio State’s investigation into head coach Urban Meyer and the school’s decision to suspend him three games.

Stadium’s Brett McMurphy reported on the official statement from the conference.

“We support the findings of the investigative team led by Mary Jo White, the recommendations of the Board of Trustees and the decision made by President Drake in consultation with the Board.”

There was no further comment from the conference.

Ohio State’s investigation concluded over the weekend but a decision on Meyer’s fate wasn’t made until late Wednesday night.

Meyer will serve a three-game suspension, based on the findings of the independent working group. Athletic director Gene Smith will serve a 17-day suspension from Aug. 31 through Sept. 16.
