B1G reveals Players of the Week following Rivalry Week action

The 2022 regular season across college football is coming to a close. Over Week 13, Rivalry Week action produced some wild results to shake up the top 10.

Most notably, Michigan produced a dominant showing to take down Ohio State in The Game. That win puts the Wolverines on the cusp of a College Football Playoff appearance while the Buckeyes hang in the balance over Championship Weekend.

Here are the Players of the Week out of the B1G from Week 13:

Offensive Player of the Week

  • RB Donovan Edwards, Michigan

Went off for a career-high 216 yards and 2 touchdowns in Michigan’s 45-23 win over Ohio State. Secured the win with touchdown runs of 75 yards and 85 yards in the fourth quarter.

Defensive Player of the Week

  • DB Sydney Brown, Illinois

Scored a pair of defensive touchdowns with a pick-6 and fumble return in Illinois’ big win over Northwestern. Finished the game with 2 interceptions, 2 touchdowns and 6 total tackles in the blowout.

Special Teams Player of the Week

  • K Chad Ryland, Maryland

Went 3-for-3 on field goal tries against Rutgers and finished with 13 total points in the blowout win for the Terrapins. Finishes the regular season going 13-for-14 on field goals inside 50 yards.

Co-Freshmen of the Week

  • RB Devin Mockobee, Purdue
  • QB Athan Kaliakmanis, Minnesota

Mockobee finished Purdue’s win over Indiana with 157 all-purpose yards. Gained 99 rushing yards on 15 carries with a touchdown as the Boilermakers clinched the B1G West.

Kaliakmanis threw for a career-high 319 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Gophers rallied for a win against Wisconsin. Helped Minnesota retain the Axe in his first start against Wisconsin.
