Seven centers from the B1G are on the Rimington Trophy Watch List headed into the 2017 season. The official preseason list was released Monday morning.

The Rimington Trophy is an annual award handed to the most outstanding center in college football.

For the B1G, the list is highlighted by Ohio State’s Billy Price – who was a bit of a surprise to return to Columbus – and Michigan State’s Brian Allen. Price has started all three years as a Buckeye while Allen has started 25 games, most of which were actually at left guard.

Both are entering their senior seasons.

Here is the full list of B1G centers that were mentioned on this year’s watch list:

  • Billy Price, Sr., Ohio State
  • Brad North, Sr., Northwestern
  • Brendan Moore, Jr., Maryland
  • Brian Allen, Sr., Michigan State
  • James Daniels, Jr., Iowa
  • Michael Deiter, Jr., Wisconsin
  • Nick Allegretti, Jr., Illinois

In total, 63 centers from around college football were named on the list, so it’s no surprise that half the teams from the B1G had a representative.

Last year’s winner was Ohio State’s Pat Elflein.
