B1G ties SEC, Pac-12 for most ranked teams in preseason AP Poll
The AP Poll is out, and the Big Ten is well-represented once again.
The Big Ten is tied with the SEC and the Pac-12 for the most teams included in the top-25 with five each. The Big 12 and ACC each have three teams included and the Sun Belt has two. No other conference has more than one team in the preseason top-25.
The five Big Ten teams to be included are Ohio State, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa and Penn State.
Here’s the full breakdown:

The Big Ten had six teams included in the top-25 of ESPN’s SP+ preseason projections. In those projections, Michigan and Minnesota both made the Top-25 while Indiana was just outside at No. 28.
Michigan and Minnesota could end up cracking the top 25 of the AP Poll early on in the season. The Gophers will have a chance to make a statement in Week 1 vs. Ohio State and the Wolverines get No. 20 Washington in Week 2.
The first Big Ten game of the season is on Aug. 28 as Illinois hosts Nebraska at 1 p.m. ET.
