Well, there’s good news and bad news.

The good news is that the B1G has three New Year’s Six spots in CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm’s latest bowl projections. No other conference can claim that.

The bad news is that the B1G is down to just eight bowl teams, seven of which are already bowl eligible. Of the remaining non-six-win B1G teams, Palm believes Minnesota is the only one that gets there. In what was a top-heavy week in the B1G, that doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

It’s worth noting that Illinois can still get to six wins if it gets two victories against the likes of Purdue, Minnesota and Northwestern. Indiana can also get there if it beats Maryland and Purdue. But for what we’ve seen from Illinois and Indiana lately, that might be asking for too much.

Here’s how Palm projected his eight B1G bowl teams.

Orange Bowl: Ohio State vs. Clemson

Rose Bowl: Michigan State vs. Stanford

Peach Bowl: Iowa vs. Houston

Citrus Bowl: Michigan vs. Florida

Outback Bowl: Northwestern vs. Texas A&M

Holiday Bowl: Wisconsin vs. Arizona State

Music City Bowl: Penn State vs. Mississippi State

Foster Farms Bowl: Minnesota vs. UCLA
