Week 9 B1G Picks
Sometimes, you just roll the dice on a team not to win.
It isn’t that you think one team has it figured out. Nebraska certainly doesn’t. We have no idea what we’re going to see out of Ryker Fyfe in his first career start. He could go off, or he could be out of the game by halftime. I have no idea.
But it still isn’t the mess that’s going on in West Lafayette.
It’s hard to imagine a quarterback being the difference in Purdue getting its first B1G home win in three years. I didn’t say it was impossible, but it’s hard to imagine. After all, this was the same team that allowed 41 points to a Minnesota team that had 11 starters out.
It’s not to say that there isn’t talent in West Lafayette. There is. Still, that talent doesn’t know how to string winning plays together.
That’s my way of saying, no, I’m not changing my pick because Tommy Armstrong isn’t starting.
Here’s how I think the B1G will shake out:
Last week: 4-1
Season total: 64-16
Penn State 28, Illinois 24
Wisconsin 35, Rutgers 17
Nebraska 35, Purdue 28
Iowa 42, Maryland 21
Michigan 28, Minnesota 7
