An in-state B1G women’s basketball rivalry game has been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns.

Monday’s showdown between Michigan State and No. 13 Michigan has been postponed. The game had been set for a 12:30 p.m. tip-off, and was expected to be a good contest. The Spartans are 8-2 on the season while the Wolverines are a perfect 10-0.

COVID-19 concerns within the Michigan State women’s basketball caused the postponement. A decision on a reschedule date has not been made at this time, though the two teams will continue to work with the B1G in hopes of making up the contest.

In a statement, Michigan State said it would provide further updates and information next week.

Michigan’s next scheduled women’s basketball game is currently set for Thursday, Jan. 21 when they’ll travel to Ohio State to play the No. 15 Buckeyes (7-0). Michigan State is supposed to host No. 18 Indiana (8-3) on Jan. 21, as well.
