Baker Mayfield isn’t going to let Texas live this down. With the Big 12 planning to enforce stricter taunting penalties, including the Horns Down gesture, the former Oklahoma quarterback is getting his shots in on Twitter.

During Big 12 Media Days on Thursday, Big 12 coordinator of officials Greg Burks said that the conference plans to put a heavier emphasis on taunting this fall. That includes the Horns Down gesture, which has become common when teams are playing Texas.

“Let me put it this way, Burks said, per ESPN. “If you do a Horns Down to a Texas player as an opponent, that’s probably going to be a foul.”

Mayfield took to Twitter to mock his former rival. The message is going viral:

Mayfield is no stranger to taunting his opponents or saying what’s on his mind. Clearly, he thinks the Big 12’s approach to the Horns Down taunt is a little over-the-top.

The nice thing for Mayfield, though, is that he won’t be penalized and go disrespect Texas as much as he wants.
