After what has to have been the most unusual Iron Bowl in history, the Alabama Crimson Tide have solidified their claim to the best team in the land.

With Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban absent due to a positive COVID-19 test, Alabama came away with a 42-13 win over No. 22 Auburn on Saturday.

Fox College Sports analyst Joel Klatt gave his take on the Tide in a video tweet posted on Sunday afternoon.

“I don’t know if there’s a team out there that I’ve seen either on film or live that matches up with Alabama,” said Klatt. “They do everything well”

Klatt went on to praise Alabama quarterback Mac Jones, who after throwing two pick-sixes in a loss to the Tigers last season, made a statement behind center against Auburn this time around completing 18 of his 26 passes for 302 yards and five touchdowns.

“Mac Jones is playing insanely good football,” said Klatt. “It’s going to be tough to keep him out of the Heisman conversation after what he did in the iron bowl today,” said Klatt.

But Klatt credits the entire team for their success, “that defense is spectacular, they‘ve been absolutely outstanding. They’re playing lights out, credit Steve Sarkisian for getting that crew ready even without Nick Saban.

“Alabama looks to be the class of college football heading into the home stretch.”
