Big Ten announces full football schedule for 2025 season
The Big Ten has released its full schedule for the 2025 campaign.
The 2025 season will be the Big Ten’s second with 18 teams. It’s also the second year that the league will feature no divisions.
Here’s an excerpt from the Big Ten’s release regarding how the schedule was built:
The model features a combination of protected opponents and rotating opponents for universities. Each member institution will continue to play nine intraconference games per season, and teams will play every other conference opponent at least twice – once home and once away – and will play rotating opponents no more than three times in a five-year period.
Notable games on next year’s schedule includes Penn State-Ohio State in Week 10, Oregon-Penn State in Week 5, USC-Oregon in Week 13, Michigan State-Michigan in Week 9, Penn State-Indiana in Week 11 and Michigan-USC in Week 7, amongst plenty of other high-profile matchups.
Each Big Ten team will once again have 2 bye weeks in 2025. Additionally, the conference noted that some games designated for Saturday may end up being moved to Friday and “other special dates.”
