Big Ten basketball: Preseason media poll released for 2022-23 season
Big Ten basketball is coming soon with the official start of the 2022-23 season right around the corner. Ahead of the start of the season, the preseason media poll for the B1G was released on Monday.
The annual media poll is compiled by The Columbus Dispatch and includes votes from a member media panel. The panel includes members of the Dispatch and The Athletic.
Leading the way on the preseason poll is Indiana. Heading into Mike Woodson’s second season, the Hoosiers landed 19 first-place votes, more than 13 more than the second-place team.
After reloading via the transfer portal, Illinois checks in at second place with 6 first-place votes. Michigan, Purdue and Iowa also received a single first-place vote.

We’ll see if these results hold up. The Hoosiers last captured the regular-season B1G title in 2016.
