Big Ten Championship Game clinching scenarios set for 2nd spot
The Big Ten Championship Game will still be in Indianapolis this year, but it has a different feel to it in 2024.
The Oregon Ducks, in their first year as members of the league, will be the No. 1 overall team in the standings and thus be featured in the title game for the first time.
Their opponent is still yet to be determined, as a trio of teams all still have a chance to take on the Ducks for the league’s automatic College Football Playoff berth.
The different scenarios for this weekend’s games were laid out by the Big Ten Network:

Ohio State is in control of its own destiny, just needing to pick up a win over rival Michigan to earn a much-anticipated rematch with Oregon.
Should the Buckeyes lose to the Wolverines for the third-straight time, it would open the door for Penn State to qualify for the title bout. The Nittany Lions would then just need to defeat Maryland at home.
Indiana, following its 38-15 loss to Ohio State on Saturday, is stuck hoping that both the Buckeyes and Penn State will lose over the weekend, allowing the Hoosiers to sneak into the championship game should they take down rivals Purdue.
