Big Ten Championship to rotate networks over new media deal
Big Ten Championships in football will now have a new broadcasting rotation after the conference announced its new media deal with CBS, NBC, and FOX. The 3 major companies will each get to broadcast the event on their own at different times.
FOX will be broadcasting the game the most out of all the broadcasters. FOX will have the B1G Championship in 2023, 2025, 2027, and 2029. CBS will then have their crack at it the years 2024 and 2028. Lastly, NBC will be broadcasting the title game in 2026.
Since 2011, FOX has been the sole broadcaster for the B1G Championship. The media rights deal is worth $8 billion and will run through the 2029-2030 season. The agreement won’t begin until the fall of 2023.
It will exciting to see how each major network decides to portray the B1G title game in the future. The game will also remain at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis for the time being.
