Big Ten coaches provide humorous roundtable discussion on ugly Christmas sweaters
It’s Christmas Eve, and tis the season for holiday greetings. It’s also time for ugly Christmas sweaters if you’re into that sort of thing.
Across the B1G, opinions on ugly Christmas sweaters greatly varied. Some coaches are an adamant “no” on the topic while others — like Michigan State’s Tom Izzo — have donned ugly sweaters while coaching in games around the holiday.
The Big Ten Network rounded up the head basketball coaches in the conference to get their thoughts on whether or not to wear ugly sweaters. Here are some of the highlights from that clip:
“I don’t wear sweaters.” – Matt Painter
“The best holiday sweater I’ve ever seen is the one Izzo wore against Oakland a couple of years ago.” – Fred Hoiberg
“Last year I wore one for the Oakland game. It was hideous.” – Izzo
“Red & green with deer all over the front and it says ‘Ho, ho, ho’ on the bottom.” – Brad Underwood
“No holiday sweaters for me.” – Fran McCaffery
