There are lots of B1G things to talk about for the conference ahead of the 2025 season. With Michigan and Ohio State winning the last two College Football Playoff National Championships, the conference will be going for a 3-peat.
In Vegas, Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti may have some big changes to talk about in his conference.
This week, the college football world was rocked by the news that the B1G and SEC are leading the charge for CFP expansion to 14 or 16 teams. The models being discussed have the conferences receiving 4 automatic bids each.
Determining those 4 automatic bids means the B1G could be looking at a championship weekend of multiple play-in games instead of the single Big Ten Championship Game.
Four auto bids for the B1G and SEC could also lead to the two leading conferences scheduling each other in the regular season.
We’ll see what’s settled by July.
