The Big Ten had quite the successful week in terms of wins and losses in Week 1, as the conference went 12-2 overall. With all of those wins came some special performances.

The conference named its offensive, defensive and special teams players of the week this morning:

Ohio State’s J.T. Barrett was considered not necessarily a front-runner, but a legitimate dark-horse option to take home the Heisman Trophy if things broke his way. Week 1 certainly helped Barrett, accounting for seven scores en route to a 77-10 win over Bowling Green.

For Michigan’s Mike McCray, it seemed like a lot of Wolverines could have been awarded with something after the game they put together. Much like Ohio State, Jim Harbaugh’s group had zero troubles against its opponent, Hawaii, winning 63-3.

Wisconsin pulled the upset of the day, stunning LSU at Lambeau Field, 16-14. Kicker Rafael Gaglianone certainly played his part, hitting the game-winning field goal.
