Wisconsin, Nebraska and the rest of the Big Ten volleyball programs learned their conference schedule for the upcoming season.

These programs will look to continue some extended dominance by the conference. Last year was the ninth time in the past 15 seasons a Big Ten school won the NCAA volleyball national championship, and the 12th time in that span the Big Ten has sent at least one team to the national championship match, the most of any conference.

Each school will play a 20-match conference schedule, the conference announced, and play 7 schools both home and away then the 6 remaining programs will play once. Of the single-play opponents, schools will play three at home and three on the road.

The Big Ten Conference season begins Friday, Sept. 23, with all 14 conference schools in action. Matches will be played on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with teams competing twice in Big Ten play each week.

The Big Ten Conference champion will also receive the conference’s automatic qualifier to the 2022 NCAA Tournament that will be played Dec. 1-17, as the season will wrap up with the national semifinals and championship match on Dec. 15 and 17 at CHI Health Center Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska.

Wisconsin is the defending national and Big Ten champion after it won its first NCAA title last season with a five-set victory over Nebraska. At the title match in Columbus, Ohio, fourth-seeded Wisconsin (31-3) beat No. 10 Nebraska (26-8) 22-25, 31-29, 25-23, 23-25, 15-12.
