Big Ten players are coming off the draft board Friday night, finding out their first destination to begin their NFL journey!

After 4 players were selected in Thursday’s 1st round, the Big Ten produced 7 selections in Friday’s Round 2. The theme of the 1st round this year was the offensive side of the ball, but things were entirely different in the 2nd round.

After a pair of receivers kickstarted Friday’s coverage, the defensive side of the ball took over and dominated the majority of the selections. In fact, every 2nd-round Big Ten selection came from the defensive side of the ball with Jer’Zhan Newton leading the way.

The rest of the picks were spread across the secondary and the defensive front with Cooper DeJean leading 4 Big Ten defensive backs in the round. Meanwhile, Michigan produced a pair of picks, giving the Wolverines 3 total selections through the first 2 rounds after JJ McCarthy was selected Thursday night.
