Big Ten volleyball is heating up in the 2022 season following the first weekend of conference play. It was a dramatic weekend of action with Purdue a big winner, making a big jump on the latest AVCA Coaches Poll.
On Wednesday, BTN analyst Emily Ehman released her top 5 performers from the first weekend of conference play. At the top of Ehman’s list was Purdue freshman Eva Hudson.
Here’s what Ehman had to say:
“(Hudson) racked up 40 kills through 7 sets last weekend,” Ehman explained. “She led the way with 21 kills in Purdue’s sweep over No. 8 Minnesota on Friday. Then, she racked up another 19 during a 4-set win over Iowa on Sunday. Hudson may jsut be a freshman but she doesn’t play like one.”
Here’s Ehman’s full list:
- 5. Savannah Kjolhede, Indiana
- 4. Caroline Barnes, Illinois
- 3. Melani Shaffmaster, Minnesota
