While fans continue to wait anxiously for a 2020 college football season, a number of publications have already unveiled early mock drafts for the 2021 NFL Draft.
We are obviously a long way from the next NFL Draft, but it is never too early to take a look at some of the college stars that are expected to come off the board early in the spring. Expect this list of potential first-round players to shift a lot during the season as very few people expected Joe Burrow to be selected No. 1 overall prior to his Heisman-caliber season.
On Monday, Bleacher Report published their first look at the 2021 NFL Draft with one notable surprise. Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence and Ohio State’s Justin Fields are widely regarded as the top quarterback prospects in the upcoming draft with many analysts putting Lawrence ahead of Fields by a slight edge. However, BR went with Fields at No. 1 overall in the mock draft.
In total, there were five B1G players listed in the first round of the mock:
- No. 1 – Jacksonville Jaguars, QB Justin Fields, Ohio State
- No. 6 – Miami Dolphins, LB Micah Parsons, Penn State
- No. 12 – Arizona Cardinals, CB Shaun Wade, Ohio State
- No. 18 – Tennessee Titans, WR Rashod Bateman, Minnesota
- No. 28 – Dallas Cowboys, TE Pat Freiermuth, Penn State
