Bo Nix, Bucky Irving exchange jerseys as former Oregon players reunite in NFL
Bo Nix and Bucky Irving played together for 2 years at Oregon, with Irving rushing for back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons in 2022 and 2023 and Nix becoming one of the country’s most prolific quarterbacks.
Both players are now rookies in the NFL, Nix a first-round selection by the Denver Broncos and Irving taken in the 4th round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
And the Broncos got the better of the Bucs in Week 3 on Sunday, scoring 20 first-half points on their way to a 26-7 win in Tampa. Although Nix didn’t throw a touchdown, he was an efficient 25-of-36 for 216 yards and no interceptions. Irving took 9 carries for 70 yards in a losing cause.
After the game, the former Ducks teammates caught up with one another, autographing their jerseys and exchanging them as keepsakes. The Bucs’ X account posted video of the moment:

It’s the first win of the season for the Broncos, making a winner out of Nix for the first time in his NFL career. Meanwhuile, the Bucs fell to 2-1.
