Well this was awkward.
Sunday morning, Pat Forde of Yahoo! Sports reported that Louisville had fired head coach Bobby Petrino after a 2-8 start, which included an 0-7 mark in ACC play. It’s a move that many anticipated was coming, especially considering the on-field struggles and off-field issues.
Why, then, was the decision so awkward? Well, for starters, Petrino was fired while doing his weekly show “Inside the Cards with Bobby Petrino,” on WAVE-TV. To make matters worse, his firing appeared on a scroll across the bottom of the screen while the show was in progress.

That’s one way to go about firing a head coach, I guess.
Petrino was in his second stint with the Cardinals but has struggled the last two years. And Louisville’s offense has had no life since the departure of former Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson.
Still, this doesn’t seem like the best way to let the public know you’re firing your head coach. Louisville must’ve been pretty fed up with Petrino to part ways in this fashion.
