We’re not even a full week into the season and we already have a strong candidate for defensive play of the year.

Some Thursday night fireworks erupted in the Group of Five. Boise State’s Tyler LeBeauf picked off a pass from UCF’s Dillon Gabriel and took it 100 yards to the house in the first quarter.

Whoa.

What an incredible play that Boise State fans will be reliving for quite some time, especially if they hang on for the victory.

Boise State led UCF by as much as 21-0 during the second quarter. This is the first game at UCF for new coach Gus Malzahn. Malzahn was the coach of Auburn from 2013-2020. Malzahn captured AP College Football Coach of the Year in 2013 for guiding Auburn to the SEC title.

Boise State is coming off a 5-2 record in the shortened 2020 season. UCF posted a 6-4 record last season.
