Finally, the rest of the world appears to be coming around.
For weeks of not having the B1G with a team in the College Football Playoff, CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm changed his tune.
In his latest bowl projections, Palm tabbed Ohio State for one of the four playoff spots. Obviously the three-touchdown victory at No. 14 Oklahoma had something to do with that.
Previously, Palm had the Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl. He also had Iowa in a New Year’s Six game, but that changed after the Hawkeyes’ lost to North Dakota State. Now, Palm has Michigan State as the B1G’s other team in a New Year’s Six bowl.
Ten B1G teams made the projected bowl field, with no major surprises. Palm had Maryland as a bowl team before the 3-0 start, which now looks even more promising.
Here were the B1G teams he had in the postseason field:
BOWLS | B1G TEAM | OPPONENT |
---|---|---|
Fiesta Bowl (CFP semifinal) | Ohio State | Clemson |
Rose Bowl (New Year’s Six) | Michigan State | UCLA |
Outback Bowl | Michigan | Arkansas |
Citrus Bowl | Iowa | Tennessee |
Music City Bowl | Nebraska | Florida |
Foster Farms Bowl | Minnesota | Oregon |
Pinstripe Bowl | Wisconsin | North Carolina |
Holiday Bowl | Penn State | Utah |
Heart of Dallas Bowl | Indiana | Western Kentucky |
Quick Lane Bowl | Maryland | Boston College |
