Brett McMurphy of the Action Network has updated his bowl projections for the postseason following the Week 2 action. His latest look at the bowl picture includes a lot of shifting pieces.
Coming out of Week 2, McMurphy has a pair of B1G teams and a pair of SEC teams advancing to the College Football Playoff. Those teams are Ohio State and Michigan facing Alabama and Georgia, respectively, but McMurphy projects another Georgia vs. Alabama matchup for the national title.
Elsewhere, McMurphy has slotted Marshall as a Group of 5 team into the New Year’s Six after a road upset of Notre Dame. He is also projecting Michigan State into the New Year’s Six for back-to-back seasons.
In the end, Northwestern and Nebraska were the lone B1G teams left off of McMurphy’s projections.
