Corey Wootton may have to go into hiding for a few days after a few recent comments. Don’t worry, the BTN analyst didn’t say anything offensive…unless you’re a Michigan fan.

Following another classic battle between Ohio State and Penn State, Wootton was hating on the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry, saying it hasn’t lived up to the hype. He then implied that, recently, the Nittany Lions have been the biggest challenger to the Buckeyes.

“How can it be a rivalry when you’ve only won twice — being Michigan –in 15 years. How is that a rivalry,” Wootton said. “You talk about lately, Penn State-Ohio State, those have been the most classic, exciting games.”

Wootton is right, the last three Penn State-Ohio State have been thrilling matchups. Each of those games has been decided by a field goal or less.

But the Nittany Lions haven’t fared much better over the last 15 years, beating the Buckeyes just four times in that span.

Michigan-Ohio State is often referred to as the best rivalry in college football. But the Buckeyes have dominated that series lately, too. Ohio State has won 15 of the last 17 meetings, including the last six straight.

So, if we’re being honest, there really isn’t anyone in the B1G that’s been on the same level as Ohio State the last two decades.
