He talked about the quarterback battle between Cade McNamara and J.J. McCarthy:
“This quarterback battle is very much a battle, right now. If I did have to give an edge, it would be to Cade McNamara,” Perry said. “Watched him go out there and play very efficiently. Very few footballs were on the ground. It was a very good practice, overall. The command of the offense, I think, really stands out.”
Perry believed McNamara had a slight edge over McCarthy based on what he saw during practice. Perry continued to praise the offense:
“Blake Corum is absolutely phenomenal. His body looks great, added a little bit of weight,” Perry said. “You get Ronnie Bell back at the wide receiver spot. Erick All at tight end does it all, whether it’s blocking or catching.”
Based on his takeaways video, Perry believed Michigan will be a good team again in 2022. He also mentioned what the defense will need to do to get back to where it was in 2021.
“It was one of the best practices we’ve seen so far.”
The practice impressed Perry.
