It can be difficult to judge talent at such an early point in a college football season, especially for some of the younger players on a team. But some B1G newcomers have already turned some heads.
Big Ten Network analyst J Leman listed his Top 5 newcomers to the B1G recently, listing four freshmen and one transfer player in the mix. The college football analyst had solid reasons for his selections, too.
First, here’s Leman’s list of Top 5 newcomers in the B1G:
- Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue
- Shea Patterson, QB, Michigan
- Stevie Scott, RB, Indiana
- Zack Annexstad, QB, Minnesota
- Adrian Martinez, QB, Nebraska
There’s really no disputing Moore as the top pick. The Boilermakers’ wide receiver leads the B1G in receiving yards and all-purpose yards and is a two-time B1G Freshman of the Week. Behind him, there’s some room for debate.
But this list from Leman is pretty solid, even if it is heavy on the quarterbacks.
Below, you can listen to why Leman ranked his newcomers in those five positions.
