How good is the B1G this basketball season? So good that NCAA.com’s Andy Katz has half of his Top 10 Player of the Year candidates coming out of the league.
This week, with less than one month remaining in the regular season, Katz released a video naming the strongest candidates to win the National Player of the Year honor. Five players from the B1G were included in his Top 10.
Leading the way was Wisconsin’s Johnny Davis, who Katz has ranked at No. 2. He believes the Badgers are nowhere near the race for a B1G regular season title without his contributions this season.
Here’s a look at all five B1G names included in Katz’s Top 10, along with their stat lines so far:
No. 2: Johnny Davis, Wisconsin
2021-22 stats: 20.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.3 steals
No. 4: Kofi Cockburn, Illinois
2021-22 stats: 21.5 points, 11.4 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.9 blocks
No 5: EJ Liddell, Ohio State
