College basketball insider Andy Katz is taking another shot at the B1G power rankings now that the NBA Draft deadline has expired.
Several B1G stars entered their name into the 2021 NBA Draft to test the waters. However, the deadline to withdraw has now passed, meaning we now have a much better idea of who will be returning for the 2021-22 season.
The one caveat is that some players are still in the NCAA transfer portal at this time. Those decisions could also alter Katz’s power rankings in the future, but this is a fairly strong gauge for how things stand right now.
Here’s how Katz ranks the B1G basketball teams heading into the 2021-22 season:
- Purdue Boilermakers
- Michigan Wolverines
- Ohio State Buckeyes
- Maryland Terrapins
- Indiana Hoosiers
- Michigan State Spartans
- Illinois Fighting Illini
- Wisconsin Badgers
- Iowa Hawkeyes
- Rutgers Scarlet Knights
- Northwestern Wildcats
- Nebraska Cornhuskers
- Penn State Nittany Lions
- Minnesota Golden Gophers
Katz explains his rankings in the video below from Big Ten Network:
