We’ve seen preseason polls, record predictions, Heisman odds and over-under scenarios. It’s all part of the charm that comes with the final month of the college football offseason.
Adding even more fuel to the preseason fire was CBS Sports, who recently ranked all 130 FBS teams in college football.
It’s a pretty laborious task, nearly on the same level as USA Today, which predicted the record for every FBS team. But with all that work comes some well-thought out perspective.
So where did the folks at CBS rank each B1G team?
Like most lists, the conference is pretty top-heavy, with Ohio State and Penn State both in the top five and Wisconsin and Michigan in the top 15.
- No. 2 Ohio State
- No. 5 Penn State
- No. 11 Wisconsin
- No. 13 Michigan
Those are the only four teams to be ranked in the top 25. The other 10 teams ranked 30th or lower. Here’s where CBS had the rest of the B1G ranked:
- No. 30 Northwestern
- No. 35 Nebraska
- No. 37 Iowa
- No. 45 Michigan State
- No. 50 Minnesota
- No. 64 Maryland
- No. 65 Indiana
- No. 85 Purdue
- No. 98 Illinois
- No. 102 Rutgers
The B1G was the only conference to have two teams ranked in the top five. Alabama (No. 1), Florida State (No. 3) and USC (No. 4) rounded out the other three spots.
What are your thoughts? Who is too high, too low, or just right?
