LSU obliterated Oklahoma in its semifinal game a couple weeks ago. Clemson beat Ohio State by six in the Tigers’ semifinal, which makes sense according to many because the Buckeyes were seen as a much better team than the Sooners.
That being said, LSU’s 63-28 victory over Oklahoma got the public’s attention. And realistically, the Tigers have seen plenty of love this season. They have the Heisman Trophy-winning QB on their side, too.

With that, the public is backing LSU to not only beat Clemson, but to cover the 5.5-point spread, too. And, it’s a majority of the public that is thinking that way:
Betting on national championship game continues to be lopsided on LSU:
• 79% of bets, 81% of money wagered on LSU at Caesars Sportsbook.
• 82% of bets, 89% of money wagered on LSU at William Hill books.— David Payne Purdum (@DavidPurdum) January 7, 2020
Want to bet the game and go against the average Joe that’s betting? Go with Clemson. If you want to follow the crowd and think that the outcome of the 2020 National Championship is obvious, then pile on the LSU bandwagon.
