With the 2022 season almost here, analysts are beginning to make all kinds of predictions. Even R.J. Young is getting in on the fun.

Young sat down on his podcast ‘The Number One Ranked Show’ and picked 3 players from the B1G that he thinks are going to have breakout seasons this fall. Ohio State’s Jack Sawyer and Marvin Harrison Jr. and Penn State’s Nick Singleton are the players he believe can take it to the next level.

For Sawyer, Young forsees another great edge rusher coming into his own in Columbus.

“That dude was bred to play defensive end,” said Young. “If you looked at him and said he was the 3rd Bosa brother, nobody would tell you that you are wrong. He’s going to be one of those guys that Larry Johnson is going to throw into the rotation.”

While Young didn’t mention Jaxon Smith-Njigba, he thinks Harrison should also be someone to look out for this season. He is only going to get bigger, stronger, and faster.

“Marvin Harrison just keeps getting bigger, and bigger, and bigger,” said Young. “Every 3 or 4 passes might be a house call for the Buckeyes. It’s lethal over there. Who wants problems with that?”

Lastly with Singleton, Young thinks he can be like the 2nd-coming of Saquon Barkley.

“Singleton is out there going after Saquon Barkley’s lifting records,” said Young. “He’s that type of athlete, he’s that type of tailback. They’ve got 3 tailbacks that they really like at Penn State, but I like Nick Singleton the most.”
