Chase Young has put up eye-popping numbers this season, and NFL analysts are starting to buy into him as the top draft-eligible prospect for 2020.

Though just a junior, pretty much everyone is expecting Young to declare early and enter next year’s NFL Draft. Considering his work on the field, that is not hard to understand.

Young has 29 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, and he leads the nation with 13.5 sacks. Oh, he’s also forced five fumbles and blocked a field goal. For his career, Young now has 36 tackles for loss and 26.5 sacks.

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Todd McShay updated his 2020 NFL Draft big board, and Young has jumped to the top spot with his dominant play. He has leap-frogged Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa for that spot. Here’s what McShay had to say about Ohio State’s star:

He has quickness and above-average bend, and he flashes the ability to convert speed to power, though he still has room for a little improvement getting off blocks. He best fits as a 4-3 defensive end, but he has experience dropping into coverage and could end up converting to a 3-4 outside linebacker role. He has been nothing short of dominant this season, head and shoulders above the rest of the edge rushers in the class, as we discussed this week.

Though Young occupied the top spot, McShay had a number of other B1G players receiving first-round grades on his draft board. Here are those players:

  • 6. Jeff Okudah, CB, Ohio State
  • 19. Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin
  • 23. Yetur Gross-Matos, DE, Penn State
  • 27. J.K. Dobbins, RB, Ohio State
  • 30. Zack Baun, LB, Wisconsin
  • 31. A.J. Epenesa, DE, Iowa
