The Chicago Bears are facing off against the Washington Commanders in this week’s version of Thursday Night Football. Already, a number of fans are fed up with one part of the game before kickoff even gets things rolling.

No, it’s not the typically horrendous play fans have become accustomed to. Last week’s game was particularly awful due to the team’s misfiring on offense and a lot of field goals.

The big issue for fans coming into Thursday’s game this week is related to the helmet choice of the Bears. Traditionally a team that wears navy jerseys and navy helmets at home, Chicago is rocking with an alternate orange helmet and orange jerseys for the game.

The response to that combination has been overwhelmingly negative, to put it lightly. Most Bears fans appear offended by the look, and it is admittedly a stark shift from the navy originals.

One fan referenced the lids as “Nickelodeon helmets.” Another fan opined that if they wanted to see Clemson play “I’ll watch Clemson” while praising the iconic look of the navy uniforms.

After this debut, we’ll have to see if Chicago retires the orange or keeps it in the rotation. Here’s how social media reacted to the debut:
