CJ Stroud and Nico Collins developed into a big-time threat for the Houston Texans during the 2023 season. Now in Stroud’s 2nd season, the duo is delivering at another elite level early on.

Facing the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football, it was an early touchdown connection from the Big Ten duo that gave Houston an early lead. It was also significant for Collins after the wide receiver was flagged for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty that set the Texans back.

It did not deter the offense with Stroud finding Collins on 2nd-and-24 for the key touchdown connection:

With halftime approaching in that game, Stroud is once again operating with an efficient 11-for-14 passing for 136 yards and the touchdown to start the game. Collins has hauled in 4 of Stroud’s passes for 70 yards and a touchdown, adding to what was a strong start to the season.

While Stefon Diggs hauled in both of Stroud’s touchdown passes in a Week 1 win, it was Collins who led Houston with 117 receiving yards. Now, Collins has his first touchdown of the season and continues to lead the way in terms of big-play ability.
