Coaching changes are inevitable, and this season one of the bigger markets will be in South Florida. Two of the “Big Three” in the sunshine state, Miami and Florida, could be in line for a shakeup at the top. But with Butch Davis stepping down at the end of the season, Florida International will likely be the first program on the list of programs in the area to get attention.
According to The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman, one name to watch in the FIU coaching search is Penn State running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider.
A former standout quarterback at FAMU, he also spent time as a successful high school coach in South Florida. Feldman reported that other FBS spots have had interest in his services before, but with his ties to the area he could be a good fit for FIU.
Known as a top recruiter in the college football ranks, Seider has proven himself as a quality position coach and could be ready to make a move to the top spot on the sideline.
As November starts to wind down, the coaching carousel chatter is certain to heat up—stay tuned.
