Colin Cowherd has never been one to shy away from big opinions, and his latest take about the huge rivalry game today between Michigan and Michigan State is right up that alley.

Not only does Cowherd know who he believes will win, he even knows the score. The out-spoken radio and television personality is banking on Michigan to take care of it’s in-state rival, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t see it being close. Cowherd is predicting a 28-20 win from Michigan, but that’s not the Big news here.

The big news is what Cowherd said after that. He believes a win over Michigan State will propel the Wolverines into the Big Ten stratosphere, putting Jim Harbaugh and crew behind only undefeated and College Football Playoff favorite Ohio State.

“By Noon my time tomorrow, Jim Harbaugh will be in control of the Big Ten along with Ohio State. It’ll be 1 and 1A,” Cowherd pontificated.

“It’s Jim Harbaugh’s best team ever,” Cowherd also said. They have the best rushing defense in the county. To me they have the best defense in the country.”

Cowherd is obviously high on the Wolverines, but let’s also remember that even though a win over the Spartans would be huge for Michigan, this won’t be their last major test of the season. If they want to make a serious run at the CFP they’ll have to go beat a flawed but good Penn State team, and of course, the Wolverines will have to prove themselves to be A-plus material against Ohio State to end the season.

Anything else would be a failure for Harbaugh and Michigan, especially considering their expectations at this point of the season.
