Dick Vitale is headed home.

The voice of college basketball and one of the sport’s greatest ambassadors provided a health update on Wednesday morning following vocal cord surgery. He has been released from Mass General Hospital and will now start four weeks of “mandatory” rest.

Vitale shared numerous tweets on Wednesday morning to update his status. He also thanked everyone for supporting him during the procedure.

After calling a handful of games this season, Vitale stepped away from the microphone to focus on his health. He has stated that he will not be returning to call any basketball games this season.

In October, Vitale revealed that he was diagnosed with lymphoma. In December, he announced his decision to take a break from broadcasting because he was suffering from Dysplasia on the vocal cords.

We all wish Vitale well in his recovery.
