The B1G is home to some of the most iconic, energetic and exciting basketball arenas in college basketball. Picking a favorite can be incredibly difficult.

College basketball expert and Big Ten Network contributor Andy Katz recently released a list of the venues he expects to provide the best atmospheres out of the B1G for the upcoming 2021-22 season. He created the Top 5 list based on the expectation that arenas will be at full capacity this year.

Topping Katz’s list for the upcoming season is Purdue’s Mackey Arena. With a team expected to be highly-ranked for the upcoming season, the energy the venue produces and the passion of The Paint Crew (the student section), the college basketball insider expects to house in West Lafayette to be rocking quite frequently this year.

Also making the list were the Xfinity Center (Maryland), Assembly Hall (Indiana), State Farm Center (Illinois) and Breslin Center (Michigan State). A lot of others could’ve been in consideration to make the Top 5.

Here’s Katz’s explanations behind his selections:

After spending an entire basketball season without allowing fans into these iconic venues, all arenas should be hopping during the college basketball season. But these five venues might provide the best home-court advantages.
