Carl Reed doesn’t feel there is a scenario in which two B1G programs reach the college football playoff in 2022.

“I was just in Nashville and Josh Pate looked like he was healthy and in good spirits,” Reed said. ” I gotta hit a U-turn now and go check on my guy and see what’s going on that made him put Michigan in his final four. I don’t see a scenario where 2 B1G teams get into the National Championship Playoff picture, especially where it looks like you’ve got Michigan losing to Ohio State…The B1G as it looks right now doesn’t yet have the juice to put two teams in the College Football Playoff.”

Reed’s argument is hard to ignore. One of Ohio State or Michigan seems inevitable to vie for the title at the end of the year. However, the Buckeyes or Wolverines running the table outside of ‘The Game’ or beating out one of Alabama, Georgia or Utah for the last spot does seem unlikely.
