The 2024 college football season has not kicked off yet, but bowl game projections have already started.

With it being “game week” for the Week 0 slate, Brett McMurphy of the Action Network shared his preseason projections on Monday.

The College Football Playoff expands to 12 teams this season. The 12 bids will go to the top five conference champions and seven at-large teams. The four highest-ranked conference champions will be seeded 1-4 and receive a first-round bye, automatically advancing to the quarterfinals.

McMurphy has four Big Ten teams making the CFP. Oregon, as B1G champ, leads the group as the top seed. Ohio State (No. 5), Penn State (No. 9) and Iowa (No. 11) are projected to make the field as at-large teams. Here’s McMurphy’s full 12-team field:

  • No. 1 Oregon
  • No. 2 Alabama
  • No. 3 Miami
  • No. 4 Utah
  • No. 5 Ohio State
  • No. 6 Georgia
  • No. 7 Ole Miss
  • No. 8 LSU
  • No. 9 Penn State
  • No. 10 Virginia Tech
  • No. 11 Iowa
  • No. 12 Texas State

Outside the CFP, McMurphy has 10 more B1G teams playing in bowl games. McMurphy does not have Michigan State, Northwestern, Purdue or UCLA going bowling this season.
