FOX Sports college football analyst RJ Young drops his top 25 again this week and let’s just say college football fans on Twitter aren’t exactly agreeing with his picks.
Young has released new rankings every week during the college football season, implementing a unique system to create his Top 25. It’s not exactly the most popular approach.
First, here’s a look at Young’s interesting Top 25 after Week 8:
Another week in the books, another Top 25 from @RJ_Young 💪
What do you think of his rankings? pic.twitter.com/DUaN5HAeFk

Based on that, it’s probably easy to understand why some fanbases are a little frustrated by the rankings. Then again, there are a few who showed Young some love for his approach.
Here are the reactions from the college football world:
I honestly thought a dartboard was involved somehow

I followed RJ on YouTube when he first started and he was incredible with his football knowledge. But this is getting ridiculous. He is just going for shock value for attention and clicks. Going down the same path as Clay Travis and Skip Bayless. It is really disappointing

I mean, I try not to think of these rankings.

Just…stop. Please.

You are doing no analysis and weighting uneven schedules in the most irrational way possible.
How many Power 5 schools would be undefeated with UTSA schedule? Putting UTSA above Bama invalidates anything you say about college footbal. pic.twitter.com/VKwC0mml6P— The Juice Betting (@TheJuiceBetting) October 24, 2021
Bama being higher than osu after losing to an unranked

I’m surprised he didn’t drop Ohio State more after this past weekend…

These get worse and worse every week 😂😂😂 my 12 year old cousin could do better!

Young’s top 25 poll is based on several factors, the main one being having an undefeated record which is why certain teams who may have lesser schedules than the Power 5 teams are ranked ahead of them.
So, eye test apparently is not one of the factors Young uses in selecting his top 25. It’s unconventional, but as Young posted last week, that’s who he thinks his top 25 are right now.
